The U13 girls hockey team hosted De Vos Malan at Merrifield, beating the visiting team 5-0.

Our Preppies travelled to Stutterheim to participate in Derby against Stutterheim, with the following results:
- U9 boys: 6-0 win

NETBALL

Our Prep netball teams hosted The Centre of Excellence and produced excellent results:

Our Preppies travelled to Stutterheim to participate in a Derby against Stutterheim, with the following results:
- U10: 1-3 loss
- U12: 4 – 9 loss
- U13: 2 – 5 loss
SWIMMING
We are very proud of Grade 7 swimmer, Jessica Davies, who qualified to take part in the SA Level 3 Champs gala that was held in Cape Town. Jessica swam in five races and achieved PBs in all five races. She received silver medals for her 50m and 100m breaststroke races. Well done, Jessica.
DEBATING
3 May
As part of the Debating league, the Merrifield college junior and senior teams debated against Westbank and Lilyfontein respectively.
Juniors vs Westbank: Merrifield won, with Alupeli Dyantyi being named best speaker.
Seniors vs Lilyfontein: Merrifield won. Another Merrifield Student, Cade Staffen, was named best speaker.
TENNIS
Congratulations to Connor Barnes who competed in another SA Tennis tournament over the long weekend in Gqeberha. He won the boys U16 singles division, his first win in a Grand Prix tournament. He was also runner-up in the doubles section.

Congratulations to our U13 tennis team, who won all 4 singles tennis matches, as well as their 2 doubles matches against Kingsridge! Merrifield emerged with an overall 6-0 victory.
TRAIL RUNNING
A massive well done to Grade 5 student, Caleb Giese, who participated in the Merrell Trail Runs held in Hogsback over the long weekend.
Caleb was the overall winner in both the 5km (open age group category) and 10km (junior and senior category) runs
SOCCER
4 May
Our 1st team soccer boys hosted The Centre of Excellence. Although they played their hearts out, they lost 3-0.
Our junior college soccer boys lost 3-1 to Baysville.
