2020 student leaders – heads and deputies of the SRC – at Merrifield. They are, from left to right, Catherine Williams-Jones (SRC deputy head), Joshua Emslie (SRC head), Matthew Fleischmann (SRC deputy) and Yolo Sikuza (SRC head).

The Student Representative Council at Merrifield is not a prefect body, they are a group of students, elected by the students, including the heads of council, to represent them.

They often act as a bridge between teachers and the pupils. Their commitment is to service and to building the school. With a strong foundation of sound values and a determination to work hard, they have the ability to create solutions to student problems.

The SRC aims to promote school spirit and a friendly atmosphere amongst students. Their help at school functions throughout the year is greatly appreciated by all. From serving, to welcoming, to ushering etc. They are always ready and happily available to lend a hand and lighten the load.

The SRC in 2020 will be led by Catherine Williams-Jones (SRC deputy head), Joshua Emslie (SRC head), Matthew Fleischmann (SRC deputy) and Yolo Sikuza (SRC head).
