5/6 November: Merrifield waterpolo players took part in the Peter Cuff Shield Tournament that took place over the weekend. Results: Boys: U14 vs Selborne U14B won 7-3; vs HPPS U13 won 11-1; vs Hudson won 7-3; vs Selborne Primary U13B won 3-1; vs Woodridge lost 4-6. Playing in the Quarter Finals vs Selborne Primary U13A lost 2-4; and then playing for 5/6th spot vs Woodridge, lost 3-5 thus being placed 6 out of 11 sides. Girls: Merrifield vs HPHS U14 lost 1-13; vs Clarendon lost 0-14; vs HPHS Invitation, won 5-1; vs Woodridge lost 1-14. In the semi-final playing Clarendon, Merrifield lost their final game for 3/4th place and then lost to Woodridge 1-6 to be placed 4th out of the 5 sides.



Congratulations to Merrifield College tennis player Devina Pillay who has been selected by Tennis South Africa to participate in the first Eastern Cape Masters U-18 age group. This prestigious event is to be held in East London at Selborne Park, from the 20th to 21st November 2021. Good luck with all your preparations going forward.


4 November: Merrifield U11 and U13 cricket teams played Selborne. Both matches were lost but the boys had a great time. U13 vs Selborne U13C: 189- 6, Merrifield 54 all out, Merrifield lost by 136.  runs.
