After receiving the highest mark in the African Prestige category, Merrifield was one of three bands selected to perform in the playoffs, making them eligible to be named the best band at the competition. This is the first time that Merrifield has been selected to perform in this coveted section!
Merrifield received the following results:
- 2nd place: High School “In The Mix” – Large
- 1st place: High School African Prestige
Making them the top performing high school marimba band in South Africa, out of the 38 bands who competed this weekend.
Well done to all the band members, ably led by Mr Morrings.
