CHESS
Congratulations to Grade 2 student, Vuyanathi Mdaka, who did exceptionally well in the Eastern Cape Open Chess tournament.
He was placed 1st in the U10 section and 14th in the U8 – U14 category out of a total of 80 players.
Our College students did extremely well at the same tournament, with Storm Scheepers placed 1st in the U18 section, followed by Ethan Pearson in 3rd placed in the U18 section.
NIPPERS
The SA Nipper Champs took place over 3 full days of competition recently, with Akeem Ally, Nola Smith, College teacher Steph Smith and Mya MacEwan represented Border in the SA Nipper Championships.
They took part in the Boogie board, Mali board, Sprints, Flags, Sprint Relay, Boogie Board Relay, Long Run, and Surf Swim. The competition was extremely strong, with over 1000 nippers taking part from all over South Africa.
Nola Smith did incredibly well, coming in 12th place at flags and in the top 10 in the long run.
TRAIL RUNNING
Congratulations to Caleb Giese, who participated in the Hobbiton Trail Run.
He won the 5km event and participated in the 10km race, where he was placed 4th and was the 1st junior home.
