It is so wonderful having Viwe Nyamakazi, who matriculated from Merrifield in 2008, now returning to the campus as a parent! Having attended Merrifield, along with his brothers, Viwe now returns to Merrifield daily, to fetch his son, Zuko, in Grade R. This full circle is so inspiring and a true testament to what Merrifield means to so many alumni!
Viwe studied Construction Management at the University of the Witwatersrand. After completing his Honours degree, he spent the next 12 years in the construction industry, working as a site engineer and site agent for some of the country’s leading contractors.
Viwe’s career has taken him all over South Africa, from Johannesburg and Pretoria to the unique challenges of Skukuza and Gqeberha. He has now returned to the Eastern Cape, where he is currently working as an entrepreneur in the property development and construction space.
