We are incredibly proud of Jody Harvey (Class of 2021), on her outstanding achievements at the University of Stellenbosch. Jody recently received the University’s prestigious Rector’s Award, placing her with the 2nd highest mark in the Faculty of Science, with an aggregate of 92%.
Jody completed a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology (cum laude) in 2024, and a Bachelor of Science Honours in Microbiology (cum laude) in 2025. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Chemical Engineering, where she will be bridging her molecular background with real world engineering applications.
During this time, she has also received an award for being placed in the top 5 1st year students in the Faculty of Science, as well as an award for the Best Thesis presentation at Stellenbosch University’s Annual Research Conference.
Over and above all these achievements, she also found the time to co-author a publication during her 3rd year, “Revisiting the fermentation of Sceletium Tortuosum.”
